Characteristics
MINIRAIL munature series by Schneeberger are 2-row miniature ball-type linear guide systems offering high stability. These are high-quality products designed with the latest technologies, focusing on simplified construction while maintaining excellent performance characteristics.
MINIRAIL guides are available in 8 sizes compliant with DIN standards. All mounting dimensions conform to DIN 645-2. The type designation of each MINIRAIL product corresponds to the rail width in millimeters (e.g., MN 14 = rail width 14 mm).
Rails and carriages can be interchanged within the same type.
MINIRAIL systems are manufactured in 2 accuracy classes. Depending on requirements, the system can be ordered in accuracy class G3 (precision) or G1 (high precision).
They are also available in 2 preload classes – V0 and V1. Preload influences running resistance, stiffness, and service life of the linear system. The choice of preload class depends on the application.
V0 corresponds to low preload, up to 0.01 C, and is available in accuracy class G3 (where C = dynamic load capacity).
V1 corresponds to preload from 0 to 0.03 C and is available in both accuracy classes.
MINIRAIL systems guarantee carriage interchangeability. MINIRAIL carriages are manufactured to high precision and are therefore completely interchangeable. This provides great convenience in service planning and spare parts management. Additional carriages can also be mounted on already-installed rails.
MINIRAIL systems can be used in high vacuum (HV) without wipers (max. 10⁻⁷ mbar), OA carriage designation. Wipers are not recommended for vacuum operation.
Plastic plugs mounted in the mounting holes of the MINIRAIL rails prevent dirt accumulation.
Carriages and rails are delivered in special protective packaging to prevent damage and are ready for installation after unpacking. For transport, MINIRAIL carriages are secured with a plastic insert shaped like the linear rail, which protects the rolling elements from contamination.
When the carriage is removed from the rail or before installation, the balls are held in place by a retaining rod. This design makes carriage replacement much simpler and faster.
