Linear guides
Linear guides form the basis of a linear bearing. They usually take the form of a metal strip with fixing holes and a raceway for the rolling elements of the bearing cages. The raceway can be flat or profiled. The main task of linear guides is to transfer pressure from the machine parts to which they are bolted to the rolling elements and to provide the rolling elements with the best possible conditions for correct operation.
M/V

General information
M/V-type linear guides are designed for high-load applications. A bearing built on the basis of this type of guides consists of a pair of M and V linear guides, each featuring 90° angular raceways whithin which operate angular needle, roller, or ball bearing cages.
Standard M/V linear guideways are made of tool steel grade 1.2842, with a hardness of 58-62 HRC. The stainless steel version is made of tool steel grade 1.4034, and features a minimum hardness of 54 HRC.

M/V-type linear guides are also available in a version with positive control (MVZ version). Each linear guide is equipped with a special gear rack, while the corresponding bearing cage incorporates at least one pinion unit. This system ensures that the bearing cage does not slip out of the linear guides during prolonged linear bearing operation. The application of the MVZ version of linear guides and cage makes the bearing system capable of operating at higher accelerations.
