Bearing cages

The linear bearing cage is an essential component of a linear rolling bearing built with the use of linear guides. The main task of the bearing cage is to hold the rolling elements inside the bearing on the guide's raceways in the correct operating position.

Protective Coatings of Bearing Cages

General information

Thanks to chemical treatment (hard-anodizing) the aluminum bearing cages we offer gain special properties. Hard coating with Teflon® impregnation reducs friction, protects against corrosio, and increases the material's waer resistance. It is also suitable for demanding working conditions. During coating, aluminum cages don't change their dimensions and all their physical propeties (e.g. load capacity) remain preserved.

The protective layer formed on the bearing cage surface penetrates into the base material to the half of its thickness- for a standard thicknes of 40 µm, approx. 20 µm is embedded into the material.

Advantages of using protective coatings:

protection against corrosion
reduced friction
improved contact properties (lower sticking tendency)
increased wear resistance
reduced thermal conductivity by approx. 10%

Aluminum Bearing Cage with BK / BR coating

The BK and BR symbols indicate additional chemical treatment of a standard aluminum bearing cage. The treatment in question is performed prior to the bearing cage being filled with bearing needles.

BK (Beschichtung als Korrosionsschutz)

anti-corrosion and friction-reducing coating (applied on all sides of the bearing cage)

BR (Beschichtung zur Reibungsverminderung)

anti-corrosion and friction-reducing coating (bearing cages are not coated on the end faces- once being cut to a particular length they are not corrosion-resistant at the ends)
