Linear guides
Linear guides form the basis of a linear bearing. They usually take the form of a metal strip with fixing holes and a raceway for the rolling elements of the bearing cages. The raceway can be flat or profiled. The main task of linear guides is to transfer pressure from the machine parts to which they are bolted to the rolling elements and to provide the rolling elements with the best possible conditions for correct operation.
RN
General information
RN-type linear guides share outer dimensions with R-type linear guides and also feature a V-shaped profile. However, in RN-type linear guides, the profile is deeper allowing for a larger contact area between the rolling element and the raceway. This results in a higher load capacity while maintaining the same dimensions.
Additionally, smaller gap between RN linear guides improves their resistance to contamination. RN-type guides are compatible with RBN and KBN bearing cages.
End pieces can be mounted if required.
RN-type linear guides are made of tool steel 1.2842 (58–62 HRC), with a stainless steel option available in 1.4034 steel (min. 54 HRC).
