The major task of steel end pieces is to hold the bearing cage in place and restrict or disable its displacement outside the working area.
Wipers are placed between a steel end piece and a linear guide. They are intended to restrict access of dirt from the outside with simultaneous keeping the lubricants in the area between the guide and the bearing cage. In addition, they prevent the lubricant in the guide from leaking outside.
Appropriate types of steel end pieces and wipers are individually selected to match every guide design.
